The Pooler 5K

The Pooler 5K is a partnership between the First Presbyterian Church of Pooler and FCA Endurance to benefit the Warrior Transition Unit at Fort Stewart.

The 4th Annual Race is set for Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013

A free kids run will be held at 7:45 am and the 5K race at 8:00 am.  The race starts and ends at the West Chatham Middle School, 800 Pine Barren Rd, Pooler, Georgia, 31322

Awards:

Trophies will be awarded for the Overall top male & top female, and for first and second place for both males and females in the following categories: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-49, 5059, 60 & up.

5K Race Course Start on Rogers St. Right on Pine Barren Rd. Left on Quacco Rd. Straight on Quacco. Around Circle at end of Road. Left on Brooklyn Way. Right on Golden Gate Dr. Left on Brooklyn Way. Around Park. Right on Pine Barren Rd. Left into Middle School. Finish on Track.

The Warrior Transition Unit

The Warrior Transition Unit is the place where wounded, injured, and ill soldiers go to heal.  Our goal is to raise finanical and moral support for those who are in the Unit at Ft. Stewart.  For more information on how these Units operate go here:  http://wtc.army.mil/about_us/wtu.html

Activities for Kids and Families at the Pooler 5K

We will have a wonderful amount of activities for kids of all ages. Our vendors come out and give out food. There is a massive inflatable obstical course and several Disney characters who come out to entertain.  The food and drinks are free. A local radio station will provide musical entertainment.

In our third year we had over 600 runners and were able to donate a $20,000 check to the Warrior Transition Unit.

In our second year we were excited to see 600 runners turnout for the race and to donate a $16,000 check to the Warrior Transition Unit.

In our inaugural race, we were thrilled to have over 300 runners and to give a $10.000 donation to the Warrior Transition Unit.
